Country Living

The doorbell rang. I glanced outside. Two mules with shaggy winter coats stood in our snow-covered front yard, hitched to a long, flatbed wooden wagon with wide metal tires

Our neighbor, David had come to pick up a desk we no longer needed.

Hubby and I live in a farming community. Many of our neighbors live off the grid for religious reasons. Gas lights and appliances do away with the need for electricity. Buggies, wagons, horses and mules replace cars and tractors. Bicycles are used year round by young and old alike, even during snowstorms.

Country living, there’s nothing like it.
